WHAT WE DO
Training: Housing Innovations provides expert staff training in subjects such as the implementation of evidence-based models like Critical Time Intervention (CTI), housing focused case management, goal setting and service planning, crisis and conflict intervention and management, trauma informed housing and services, staff supervision and many more related topics. Our trainings are offered to a variety of program types including Permanent Supportive Housing, Rapid Rehousing, Street Outreach, Case Management and other programs working to support vulnerable populations in achieving stability. Trainings can be tailored to the special populations served in your program such as people who have mental illness, substance use disorders, medical needs, trauma experiences, or are aging.
With decades of experience guiding housing and homelessness systems nationwide, our trainers equip frontline providers, supervisors, and system leaders with practical tools that align with best practices. We tailor each training to reflect the unique needs and capacity of the community, reinforcing a person-centered approach to quickly and permanently house people experiencing homelessness. Our sessions are interactive, grounded in real-world application, and are designed to build lasting capacity within programs and systems. Whether you're launching a new initiative or refining existing practices, our training helps teams operationalize these models with fidelity and impact.

Strategic Planning & System Assessment: We work with jurisdictions and homelessness response systems to develop data-informed strategic plans and conduct comprehensive system assessments. Our approach includes stakeholder engagement, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and a clear roadmap for actionable change. We specialize in evaluating system performance, including coordinated entry, identifying resource gaps, and recommending improvements that strengthen the entire housing crisis response system. Whether through a formal needs assessment, system modeling, or multi-year planning, we help communities build systems that are efficient, person-centered, and outcomes driven.
Continuum of Care (CoC) Support: Housing Innovations has extensive experience helping CoCs strengthen infrastructure, improve performance, and maximize federal funding. We provide year-round support to CoC lead agencies and collaborative applicants, including technical assistance on HUD’s annual CoC Program Competition, local competition processes, scoring tools, and narrative development. Our team also assists with crafting clear policies and procedures, facilitating governance enhancements, and developing customized training for CoC members, board members, and grantees.
Program Design & Implementation Support: From concept to launch, Housing Innovations partners with communities to design and implement high-impact housing and service programs. We help translate local needs and national best practices into clear, actionable program models that deliver measurable outcomes. Our support includes designing program frameworks, establishing workflows and staffing plans, and providing hands-on technical assistance during startup and early implementation. Whether you're developing a rapid rehousing program, a new supportive housing initiative, or a multidisciplinary outreach model, our team brings deep field experience and proven strategies to help you succeed.

Compliance Training & Site Monitoring: Our team delivers comprehensive compliance training and site monitoring support to ensure that housing and homelessness programs meet federal, state, and local requirements. We work with Continuums of Care, local governments, and nonprofit providers to interpret HUD regulations, strengthen program oversight, and maintain alignment with funding expectations. Our site monitoring services include policy reviews, participant file audits, and structured feedback to help providers improve quality, reduce risk, and uphold the highest standards of service delivery.
